Tuesday, 2 August 2011: Relax

Stop obsessing over the number on the scale. Stop obsessing over the Rx weight. Stop obsessing over the restrictions of the paleo diet. Stop obsessing over the clock. Stop obsessing over the lift. Stop obsessing and relax.

As CrossFitters we sometimes trick ourselves into thinking that our bodies are temples. 8 hours of sleep, a strict paleo diet, and only Rx weights during the WOD. We forget that there is more to life than the WOD and our diet. Remember why you started CrossFitting to begin with...to make life easier and maybe to get into shape. But somehow we started obsessing about everything. We forgot what it was like to enjoy life.

The lift, the WOD, the diet are just small portions of life. You have to let them go occasionally and get lost in the moment. If you don't make the lift, it's okay because you can try again another day. If you didn't stick to your diet, it's okay because you need to appreciate good food regardless of the portions or food type. CrossFit makes life easier, so relax and enjoy life.
