I don't understand why some people believe doing extra workouts is beneficial. I can understand if you're supplementing your normal strength and conditioning program (Crossfit) with sport-specific training (football, swimming, baseball, etc.), but adding extra workouts thinking they will improve your performance is simply stupid. Click on the page above entitled "Extra Work vs Extra Workouts" and it'll explain how I feel about extra workouts. Some may think that my WODs are borderline extra workouts, but the intent is to focus on my weak areas. Lately I've been tackling my Olympic lifts, but my bias program keeps weights lights as to not affect my normal WOD. If the lifts begin to affect my normal WOD, like when I was doing the strength bias, I need to separate the WODs by a minimum of 3 hours. That's the only way to get maximum benefit out of both WODs. Cramming them one after the other does nothing but damage the body without allowing proper recovery. Remember even elite athletes like Chris Spealler rarely do two WODs a day.

The snatches reminded me of the CF Games WOD #1. At one point I wanted to start clean and jerking the weight. I tried to finish under 10min, and there really is no excuse for not, but my grip was failing during the toes to bar. I chose not to wear my pull up grips since they tend to slip on Steve's oversized pull up bars, so I was trying to maintain good awareness on my calluses. No ripping, but I did drop off a few times since I felt them pulling. Toes to bar were definitely the part that slowed me down. All bent rows were unbroken. I tried to do the snatches unbroken, but my shoulders were giving out. I'm still pretty sore from yesterday's hero WOD. Hopefully it won't affect my performance for tomorrow's WOD.
