15min AMRAP:
9 Deadlifts, 155#
12 Push Ups, hand release
15 Box Jumps, 24"
Post time to comments.
RESULTS:
9 rounds + 10 Push Ups.
The push ups started to wear on me. Having to release and lose all the tension and having to push from a cold start was difficult. I also need to work on cycling my box jumps faster. I think it wastes energy jumping off the box to extend the hips, so I step down. However, as soon as my second foot touches the ground, I jump back onto the box. This technique is a little slower that jumping off, but uses significantly less energy. I need to start training jumping off just so I can cycle my box jumps faster.
Jason and Steph decided to stay behind after class to cheer me on. Even though I typically zone out and go into "the tunnel", it was nice to have them supporting me. I usually just try to find my "inner peace" during the WOD where I welcome the pain and push through the movements at a constant pace. I've learned that when you convince yourself to keep moving, even at a slower pace, or to hold onto the bar, instead of letting go, you complete reps faster than if you stopped--"active rest" as Greg Amundson calls it. I can rest when I'm dead, right?
