I had an interesting conversation with some of my athletes from CF Impavidus last night. They mentioned I do a good job motivating them during the WOD. I think motivating others is a no-brainer, that's the only way to get through some of these WODs. I have the now defunct Crossfit Ramstein to thank for instilling this trait in me. I also know, through personal experience, that if you leave an athlete that is relatively new to Crossfit to themselves during a WOD, their self-talk will get the better of them ("it's too heavy", "I'm too tired", "I can't do this"). But if I'm there giving them constant positive reinforcement and encouragement, it pushes them to keep going. I've been amazed at what I've been able to accomplish during my short journey with Crossfit so far and I want others to realize that they can accomplish the same things. All it takes is that positive reinforcement that they really can accomplish anything.

WOD:
Burgener warm-up
5 Rounds:
3 front squats
3 jerks
5min Rest
Resting 60 seconds between sets:
Bench press 2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2

RESULTS:
Oly Lifting Bias @ 120#

WOD:
200/200/200/200/205/205/205/210/210/210
I probably could have gone a little heavier, but I didn't have a spotter to make sure I didn't kill myself during the WOD. By the end, 210 went up a lot easier than I expected. Next time I'll find a spotter so I can really see how much weight I can throw around.
