Deadlift, 3 reps
Max rep Handstand push-ups
Post loads and reps to comments.
RESULTS:
Oly Lift Bias--I did this complex using 115#. Initially tried 135#, but realized that was a little too heavy for skill work. The complex consisted of a front squat followed by a split jerk three times for five rounds. Even 115# may have been too ambitious, because by round five I was beginning to fatigue. The last round I let my midline relax, which significantly caused my form in the jerk to completely suck.
WOD:
385/7
385/6
385/5
385/4
385/5
Deadlifts were broken, but I didn't use straps since I wanted to work my grip as well as the lift. 385# was a good weight to use since the last round was tough to finish. I tried the belly to wall handstands and really focused on bringing the head forward of my hands. Definitely a different feel for the HSPU that I need to get used to. The belly to wall position also prevents me from kipping to get more reps, but it is better form. I think I'll start alternating HSPU and rope climbs into my volume training, because I really need to get better at those.
