This is a collection of my thoughts and observations that I've made throughout my CrossFitting career. With the growing popularity of CrossFit, new boxes are springing up everywhere but the quality of coaching is still lagging behind. This can be easily fixed by actively discussing various topics that will help improve the quality of our coaching. The goal is to improve your understanding of human movement so that you can better coach any athlete that walks through your doors.
1: Did first 4 unbroken, then the next 3 unbroken, then switched to singles. Tried to keep up with Jason on that first round--bad idea. He took off in the beginning, but slowed dramatically once he hit the ring dips. I had a relatively easy time with the ring dips compared to the others--first 10 unbroken.
2: Single squat cleans--legs were really starting to feel it since I have a very deep squat clean. I passed Jason and tried to catch Kalob who was only a few reps in front of me. Caught Kalob on the ring dips.
3: Single squat cleans--felt like the last 2 reps were upright rows more than shrugging. Legs completely tired. 5 then 4 on the ring dips. Kalob got ahead of me on the squat cleans and I couldn't catch him. He finished his ring dips right when I started mine.
Leif was watching my form during the squat cleans and said I had really good form--good snap and extension. Glad to hear all the technique work on my clean actually helped.
