I picked up a free issue of Men's Fitness in the United lounge for some entertaining reading on the plane. I found an ad that is the funniest/stupidest thing I've read about nutrition. Eddie Latoza personal trainer and, so-called, fitness expert says, "I take [insert generic supplement here] immediately post-workout to help replenish my glycogen levels and spike my insulin to increase creatine absorption in the muscle." Obviously he doesn't realize that spiking his insulin levels only makes him more hungry. I'll stick to my 1 block snack or 5 block lunch post WOD to maintain normal insulin levels while continuing to lean out more than this guy. What some people subject there bodies to with fad diets continue to amaze me. And they wonder why they can't maintain lean muscle mass when they spike their insulin all the time.

Enough with the soap box. Here's another body weight WOD since I'm still on travel without proper fitness facilities.

3 Rounds for time:
50 Double Unders
75 Squats

Post time to comments.

  1. It's amazing how much we used to not know. I would have read that a year ago and been like ... "glycogen", "insulin", "random science things i don't understand" ... it must be true!!!! and i would have ran out and bought it!

My double unders remain inconsistent. I'll get 20-30 in a row, then I'll only get 1 at a time to finish off the round. WTF? Guess I just have to keep including them in my warm up to get better.
