This is a collection of my thoughts and observations that I've made throughout my CrossFitting career. With the growing popularity of CrossFit, new boxes are springing up everywhere but the quality of coaching is still lagging behind. This can be easily fixed by actively discussing various topics that will help improve the quality of our coaching. The goal is to improve your understanding of human movement so that you can better coach any athlete that walks through your doors.
Warm up:
ReplyDelete1000m row
1-240 AVE Watts
2-226 AVE Watts
3-232 AVE Watts
First round I started fast and then settled into a good hard pace. Tried to pick up the pace for the last minute. Second round was harder. Legs were really feeling it. I tried to focus on the catch, making sure my body released first before bending the knees. It helps that my motion simulates actual rowing in a boat rather than straight back and forth. Tried to pick up the pace for the last minute, but did everything I could just to hang on. Third round I was all in. Tried to recall the cramping from the Marine Corps Marathon and how I need to break through that wall to make progress. Just shut my eyes and held on. My AVE Watts hovered in the upper 220s until the last minute where I just poured everything I had left. Managed to break 230 in the last 30s.
